CaniX

Apparently there's a new cross country sport in town. It's being proclaimed as the newest in outdoor health for dogs and their owners. Now I've taken part in this sport for years and to me its just called running with your dog but give it a fancy name, some new equipment, media coverage and competition and you've got CaniX.

Great initiative to motivate owners and dogs to fit but can you imagine the mayhem at a large competition?
Check out Canicross UK website for more information.

  1. Do they have different classes I wonder? If you're a beginner, can you show up with just a chihauhau? Maybe just run around the block?

  2. I like your thinking, around the block sounds about right! After that maybe graduate to around the park and back.

  3. I wonder what "equipment" you need besides running shoes and a leash?

  4. I cant run as fast as my two yellow dogs (hint as to who I am - you will also know the Supreme Athlete can outrun the two yellow dogs - another hint) - Mike Carder has some great comments on this blog site - I'm chuckling....

  5. Hello.
Would you have to train your dogs to run this competition?
Im only curious to know because wouldnt dogs pull you around the field to smell... hint cough hint. I know my dogs would especially the spotted one i used to have.
do the dogs get competitive too? or just the humans?

  6. I think this sounds like a lot of fun! I would imagine my dogs wouldnt be very good at this, if they had professional dogs who can remain on task I would take part.
